This year we have updated our workshop lengths to better meet the needs of the workshop and you. You will find quick 90-minute & 2-hour workshops, a longer 4-hour workshop, and our standard 3-hour, 6-hour and 2-day workshops.
Don't be confused by this however, you will find the workshop schedule by day below to visualize the class offerings.

In this 3 hour class students will explore the beauty and value of a stark white material, moldable and responsive, into a grouping of forms that can be the basis for any jewelry or sculptural idea wanting to take form. We will be mold-making and casting paper. Students will leave with a grouping of shapes, ready for the next incarnation.

Explore beyond pouring a bezel in this technique-based class. Benefit from Susans 10-year body of jewelers grade work combining resin with metalwork. Learn the basics of resin and its properties then go beyond using ground breaking techniques such as creating and working with resin paper, producing stones such as druzy, opal and crystal, cold enameling, casting and more. Build beautiful whimsical and playful bezels of wire and more.

Get a flair for the exotic with in this fun class that uses unusual elements to create a stunning finished product. In the Bohemian Beader class, students get to choose their own kit that will include a beautiful Indian Sari trim and coordinated beads to match (psst - the colors for this class are out of this world!) Once a kit is chosen we will set to designing an exquisitely styled necklace.  We will combine stringing, beaded chain, and wire wrapping in this piece to make the front focal elements.

Leave this class with a unique cuff bracelet. Join Alison Lee, from CRAFTCAST.com, and learn how to work with a large variety of patinas. Watch how you can use traditional and non-traditional patinas to create spectacular colors and textures on a brass cuff. Finish off the patina with some easy techniques to add an iridescent finish that pops with tips on different ways to seal the surface of your finished piece. This technique will inspire lots of new ideas for how to work with color and metal, and how some easy patinas can create an interesting finish
 

 

POLICIES


If a workshop is canceled by the instructor or by Bead Fest Philadelphia a full refund will be given to the registered students, or the registered student may change into another workshop for no additional fee - we will apply full value of the canceled classand the student will pay or be refunded the difference.

Workshop Changes:


Registrants may change a workshop through end of day Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
A $25 per workshop change fee will be assessed.  Workshops are non-transferable between Events.

Registrants understand that workshop skill level and prerequisites are listed for each workshop. No refunds or changes will be made to registrants for any reason related to skill level or prerequisites.

Cancellation/Refunds:


If you cancel your workshop registration by the end of day Wednesday, July 2, 2014: You will be refunded 100% of workshop cost, minus $35.00 per workshop.
From July 3rd until the event, there is a 0% refund for workshop fees and kits will not be mailed or refunded for canceling/changing the workshop.

No changes can be made after Wednesday, July 2, 2014.

Online registration will close at 11:59 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2014.
